230 Hickory Ridge
230 Hickory Ridge is a unique and wonderful place. On my first visit with the sellers I was absolutely enchanted with the location. On approach, the house has a distinctive white picket fence, proceeding through the gate you find a nicely landscaped front yard with perennials, and a large covered front porch just meant for enjoying the beautiful setting and relaxing sounds of the rock fountain in the side yard. I can certainly see why the sellers say they practically live on this porch in the spring and summer. The most amazing part of the setting is a wooded play area, nicely equipped with a tire swing, slide, treehouse and even a campfire area. There’s plenty of room to run around and a lovely walking path across the property. Camping anyone? At 230 Hickory Ridge there is no need to leave home to go to the park! The house itself has plenty of space with 3 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms, formal dining room, family room and a bonus room. There are two master suites, one on each level and each master bath has a garden tub and separate shower. The upstairs master has an attached sitting/office area. The bonus room has no closet but could be used as a fourth bedroom or would make a great office space. The kitchen is charming and well-equipped. The kitchen and family room both open out to the back deck for more outdoor living space. This ideal home is located in Swannanoa, a convenient 15 minute drive from downtown Asheville. Shopping is within a 5 minute drive. So close, but far away enough to feel like a mountain retreat. On the border of Black Mountain, the area boasts beautiful mountain vistas along with lower taxes. It would make a lovely vacation home or a year round abode. You won’t find another like it. Check it out for yourself:

Downtown Asheville Condos
Downtown Asheville is a vibrant mecca of culture, and simply a great place to find something interesting going on almost any time of day. However, I grew up in Asheville and I can tell you that by the time I left in the early 80's it was pretty much a ghost town. Growing up I remember shopping at Ivey's and Bon Marche's downtown department stores. J.C Penneys and Sears were also downtown if you can imagine? Saturday was often a special downtown day culminating with lunch at the S&W cafeteria, what a treat! So returning home to Asheville a few years ago, I was pleasantly surprised to find the ghost town was revitalized with great shops, fabulous restaurants, concerts, festivals, you name it, Asheville certainly is a different town now than the one I left behind. The S & W has even been turned into condos. More and more people are deciding to relocate to our downtown area. There are many condo options that put Asheville's amenities right at your doorstep.
